Seher AYRAL started teaching after graduating from Malatya Girls' Art and Teachers' School in 1965-1966. With her first salary in her career, she bought the materials for her work called GÜZÇİÇEĞİM with great excitement. She intended to produce a decorative handicraft for her dowry by using carpet and kilim patterns from antique works that she had examined by traveling all around the country for years. However, when she was engaged to a person she did not love by her family during the same period, her belief in marriage and love was shaken and she put the materials in her dowry chest. However, this engagement, which did not suit her upright stance and determination and her naive spirit, was ended with the regret of her family. Shortly after this, in the fall of 1969, she met the brother of her sister's fiancé and a magnificent love blossomed between them. With this love, her dreams came back to life and the first thing she did was to give life to the most precious piece of her dowry with the materials she put away in the chest and in a short time she produced a magnificent coffee table cloth set.
If we ask "How did the name of the work come about?"... Since they met in the autumn season and because she resembled a flower, the man she loved addressed Madam Seher as GÜZÇİÇEĞİM (Autumn Flower). This beautiful love story was made official at the wedding table they sat at in 1970.
As for the technique and material of the work, the story of which is briefly told above… The work is a decorative cover prepared by hand-embroidering the old kilim pattern on a hoop with colorful Molina threads, on a smoky Panama linen, and assembling it on Ödemiş silk with an antique technique in a way that suits today. The work, which can be used as a decoration in areas such as coffee tables, dining tables, display cabinets, etc., reflects the texture and scent of Turkish Handicrafts.
Seher AYRAL produced her work in 3 pieces. The large coffee table cloth is mounted symmetrically on both sides of the work called GÜZÇİÇEĞİM. One of the other pieces is kept in its original form by the artist's daughter and the other by her son as a keepsake.
