BESMELE – Bismillâhirrahmânirrahîm (بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم) – Marash Work, Composition Inspired by Calligraphic Aesthetics
Artwork Details
This artwork features the Basmala, one of the most frequently recited and revered phrases in Islamic culture and art. Meaning "In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful," this blessed expression is considered the spiritual threshold for every good deed in Islamic tradition.
The composition is interpreted within a horizontal and balanced calligraphic arrangement. The rhythmic flow of the letters throughout the text creates a fluid appearance reminiscent of the Thuluth aesthetic, while the prominent word "Allah" at the center strengthens the spiritual focus of the composition. The curved letter transitions support both the legibility and visual continuity of the text.
This artwork elegantly renders on a textile surface an expression that embodies the idea of beginning, blessings, and mercy.
