Artwork Details:
This original chest cover from the 1920s was hand-woven on a loom using thick marmarshah-style cotton fabric. This valuable piece, bearing the traces of time, has been modernized for contemporary use. Turkish needlework, diagonal pesent, and Chinese needlepoint techniques were used in the handcrafting; the patterns were colored with copper tinsel and naturally dyed colored threads. In some areas, the rouchulieh technique was applied to add depth.
At the ends of the artwork, a delicate "water" pattern was created, inspired by the main motif. Sections of the fabric worn due to age have been restored with elegant guipure lace and enriched with tinsel embroidery. Finally, all four edges were finished with hand-crocheting, bringing it back to life in a modern form.
