Artwork Details:
This saddlebag, created in the 1940s by weaving natural, spun raw wool threads on a hand loom, is a special design that carries two different faces, both in its weight and pattern language.
The figures and colors, worked in different forms on both sides, reflect the craft spirit of the period and the inner world of the maker.
This antique fabric, enriched with colorful madder-dyed threads using hand-stitching and wrapping techniques, was reinterpreted with modern details by Seher Ayral in 2022.
Its original strap was preserved, and a new handmade strap was added; the interior was lined to make it suitable for modern use.
The three-sided tassel embellishments made of raw threads on its edges preserved the authenticity of the saddlebag while adding an authentic richness to the design.
